Johnson County debuts new emergency alert system, ReGroup
January 1, 2025
The Johnson County Missouri Emergency Management Agency is retiring the Rave emergency notification app and replacing it with a new, integrated Emergency Notification System (ENS) platform provided by the company ReGroup Mobile.
We’re here to alert you all about Johnson County Emergency Management Agency’s newest platform for sharing news to residents. The best part is if you were already receiving messages from Rave, you have nothing to do. We have already transferred your emergency notification information to the new system, and you should not notice anything. AND it’s still FREE.
ReGroup, an alert system that will be used to notify the public on various emergencies. Those who sign up will receive mass announcements like active shooter calls, hazmat hazards, missing persons, flooded + closed streets, and shelter-in-place advisements. The Integrated Public Alert & Warning System (IPAWS) will also use ReGroup as the platform to provide local alerting for regional, state, and national emergency and life-saving information (including severe weather) to the public through mobile phones using Wireless Emergency Alerts.
ReGroup will send the alert based on the individual’s preference setting — via text, email, or automated calls. The platform is free + open for all to use. Sign up online.
“We are excited to add ReGroup as the latest emergency notification tool to our emergency preparedness infrastructure,” JoCo EMA Director Darrin Tobias.
